ABSTRACT
Relevance: The COVID-19 infection caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has rapidly escalated into a pandemic since it was first reported in December 2019. The new coronavirus is one of the highly pathogenic viruses affecting humans. To defeat this disease, it is necessary to form a collective immunity, which occurs due to the development of immunity in the population, either as a result of vaccination or as a result of a previous infection. Due to the high mortality rate and rapid spread, an effective vaccine is urgently needed to combat this pandemic. Vaccination of a significant part of the population will be required to safely achieve collective immunity against COVID-19, which will reduce the total amount of the virus that can spread among the entire population. One of the goals of vaccinating the population is to provide safety and protection against this disease for vulnerable populations who cannot be vaccinated.
